Floor Refinish In Entry Room

In the front door entry section of the house, there is an oak parquet floor. This turned out great with the floor refinish because the parquet is made up of various species of oak and shows different colors. Of course, you can't really see it in the after photo, so you'll just have to take my word.

This is beautiful parquet. I wish I could do the same thing. Please let me know your secret!

Wow. That is a beautiful parquet. I hadn't seen that picture in over a year. Thanks for the reminder.
As for my secret??? All I did was sand it and refinish it. It seems too simple, but that is all it needs. It is an oak parquet from what I remember.

Joe, Sorry to bother you but can you tell me what kind of finish you used? Any Brand name? Polyurethane or some other? Satin or Gloss? Water or Oil? Please tell me.. Thank you..

I have no idea what brand. I hired someone to do the actual resanding and refinishing since I didn't want to screw it up. I am pretty sure he used a water based finish.

Did you finish this floor by yourself or did you have it done? It is stunning. I have some parkay that is in need of some love.

I know this was posted ages ago, but I am about to have a floor refinished that looks similar to your 'before' picture. Do you know if there was any stain used? Or the name of the company that refinished them for you?
