I had posted something before regarding the new floor vent, but just had to show the finished product with the new paint job against the newly refinished floor. Here is the cold air return at the opposite side of the dining room. It's cast iron from Reggio Registers.
That vent turned out beautifully - the finish looks great. We need to clean up some of our old vents, so I was wondering what steps you took to refinish it? What kind of paint did you use?

ReplyDeleteI hate to admit this but I used gloss black Rustoleum spray paint! When I bought it, they told me another option was powder coat but just plain ol' spray paint would work too. I also did about 5 coats.
Well, it certainly came out great! Nice wood floors too.
ReplyDeletewow, i love the register and vent! did you buy the vent locally here in portland?

ReplyDeleteYes, I bought it at Rejuvanation. It wasn't exactly cheap, but so worth it.
